Our History
Generations of Memories
For more than 35 summers, Cutty’s has been the place for families to unwind, relax and connect. We’re proud of where we’ve been and excited about where we’re going.
Humble Beginnings
We have always strived to create the best Lake Okoboji experience available. Richard Cutler, who developed Cutty’s in Des Moines partnered with the Nodland family in Spirit Lake to create a place for members to come together and form a community while offering camping opportunities to members. Cutty’s of Okoboji was born.
High Tides
Most of the major Cutty’s amenities have been part of the club since the beginning but a pool (and poolside lodging) and a mini golf course have been part of our expansion and growth throughout the years. As members’ families grew, they found Cutty’s to be a special place that defined their family and have passed down their memberships through the generations.
Planting Our Flag
For more than 35 years, Cutty’s has created a legacy of family memories and social bonding. The roots we have developed are so strong that our very first member all those years ago can be seen at bingo regularly. We’ve spent a generation creating a place to create memories for generations to come.
